Of Poseidon – Book 2
Available 28 May 2013
In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.
As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?
This Blonde’s Review:
I really enjoyed Of Poseidon and was really looking forward to finding out what was going to happen. Emma’s life was turned upside down when her best friend died, she discovered she could talk to marine life, and met a guy. Galen wasn’t exactly human but neither was she. It was a lot for her to take in. With the discovery at the end of the first book I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen in the second.
Of Triton picks up shortly after the first book left off. As we could expect Emma’s mother didn’t take hearing what Galen knew very well. Before Emma fully understands what is happening her mother is on the run and Emma has been taken along against her will. All she could do is try not to betray her mother or betray Galen and hope that somehow it all works out. Maybe the whole misunderstanding could be explained away.
This book picked up speed and just rolled right to an inevitable conclusion. I really couldn’t have seen it ending any other way. Emma had to make herself known to the Syrena, Galen would have to choose between his history and a life with Emma. We learn quite a bit about how things were and find out that there have been changes going on while Galen has been away. We can only watch and wonder what will happen to Emma and the ones who matter to her.
If you enjoyed the first book in this series you won’t be disappointed by this one. I know I loved finding out what was going to happen with Emma, Galen, and all the rest. It wasn’t an entirely happy ending since there were some loses, but in many ways this worked out the best way possible which we can’t help but be happy about.
