Don’t read this description of review if you haven’t read the rest of the Covenant series. My review is available as well.

“History is on repeat, and things didn’t go so well the last time. ”

Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her eighteenth birthday–to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner… and so is Aiden.

If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time “training”–which really is just Seth’s code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time–she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she’s caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed… and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate.

This Blonde’s Review:
If you’ve read the first two books at this point I’m sure you’re eager to get your hands on the third book in this series. I know I was. It is so freaking difficult to review this one without giving everything away but I’m gonna try.

After the way the last book ended we could only hope that this one would live up to it, without Alex paying the consequences for what happened. She knows that she isn’t the only one who will suffer if it comes to light. Seth and Aiden can’t agree on anything except that Alex needs to be protected. She’s placed under constant guard to protect her from those who would want to hurt her, but also to protect her from the decisions she makes that could place herself in jeopardy.

Alex dreads her birthday. She doesn’t know it’ll bring or whether she’ll still have any control over her thoughts or feelings. The closer she gets the more the people around her will show their true colors. Some will surprise us and others will prove what we’ve known all along.

Alex is the reason why I love this series. She makes crazy choices but she always does them because she feels they’re right and will protect the people she cares about. Who wouldn’t love a girl who puts what matters above her own safety? Unluckily for Alex, there are many who don’t. They hate her more for what she is going to be than who she is, but her outspoken nature isn’t gaining her many admirers either.

The series gets really interesting when the gods decide it’s time to show themselves. In a series of moves that will change the lives of hundreds. Some will be against her and surprisingly some will be for her. The gods were a great addition to this book. I enjoyed the personality Jennifer Armentrout gave them instead of just making them these big characters who filled a role.

In Diety Alex will also learn some secrets she never thought to question. Alex will learn what really happened to her father. She’ll also learn what really makes an Apollyon. She’ll discover what laws regarding Pures and Half Bloods were really set by the gods and what the Pures made themselves. Most importantly, she’ll learn who does and who doesn’t have her best interests at heart. Some of those questions are ones I hadn’t thought to ask and I loved seeing them.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series! The way this one ended was fabulous and such a freaking cliffhanger that it’s gonna drive me nuts. If you have enjoyed this series so far then Deity is not going to disappoint you. If you haven’t read it then what are you thinking for ignoring the warning and reading this anyway?? Get your hand on a copy of Half Blood and get started on this series soon.

Gods, their pure children, and the half blood children of Pures and mortals make up the world of the Covenant series. If finding out the truth about what’s really at stake and how it all plays out sounds like something you need to know, then pick up Deity and find out what happens next in Alex’s story.
