From the first glimpse he knew he must have her — even if only for a single night . . .

Powerful, ruthless, seductive—the lord of London’s underworld—Roman Merrick gets anything he wants . . . and he burns for Charlotte Chatsworth, a polished jewel in the glittering ton. So he engages her debt-ridden gambler father in a game of chance, wagering ten thousand pounds against one night with the man’s exquisite daughter. And Roman Merrick never loses.

But one night is never enough . . .

Charlotte is devastated to learn that her reprobate father has lost her in a card game to the most dangerous man she’s ever met. With the threat of ruin behind every corner, Charlotte embarks upon a perilous path with the man she cannot forget. But in truth, it’s Roman who has everything to lose—for a game undertaken for pleasure alone soon has him gambling his heart. And love and passion unleashed could bring his great, dark empire tumbling down . . .

This Blonde’s Review:
Charlotte is horrified to discover her father wagered her in a card game and lost. Since her father is a terrible gambler she knows she shouldn’t be surprised. What her father didn’t realize was that he was set up to lose Charlotte’s favors.

Roman has wanted to spend a night with Charlotte and sets the game up to win a chance with her. He knew it was possible that he could win the game and still not receive his prize, but as a confident gambler he knew his chances were good. With Charlotte’s pride and everything her father stands to lose, his night was sure to happen.

What was supposed to be one night of passion turns out to be something else entirely; something that leaves Charlotte confused and uncertain of Roman’s plans. Soon Charlotte and Roman are engaged in a game of their own that has nothing to do with a gambling debt and everything to do with passion.

I loved Roman and Charlotte. They were such different characters and seem like they’d be a terrible match, something that the people around them believed strongly. Yet something about them seems to fit perfectly and makes us hope for the best for them. I love seeing the way and author can take a couple who seem so different and lets us slowly peel back the layers to see that at heart they are more than we expected and perfect for each other. Anne Mallory did a wonderful job with this and I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. I also need to get a copy of the first one since I missed it.

If you enjoy seeing a couple who shouldn’t have anything to do with each other succumb to their passion for each other and learn to love, then you won’t want to miss One Night is Never Enough.
