This Blonde’s Review:
Brie’s world is in turmoil. Her older sister is dead. There was no warning, there are no answers. She’s just Gone.
Brie and her sister didn’t get along. Faith was a religious girl, while Brie was more concerned with superficial matters. No one knows how to act around her, and that makes life harder for her since she can’t just pretend to move on as normal. She has a new normal that she doesn’t know how to deal with. Brie finds herself without her friends or her boyfriend. Her parents are so wrapped up in grief that she doesn’t have them either. She is alone.
After her sister’s death she does make a new friend. Tess is someone Brie never would have been friends with before, but is there for her and the best friend she could ask for.
The details of Faith’s death don’t add up to Brie, so she’s looking for more answers. Faith’s best friend is hiding something. Brie finds out that Faith was hanging out with a new group of people, Not her church friends. Faith’s death was supposed to have been a suicide, but was it?
She starts looking for more information about the people Faith was spending her time with secretly. Through this she meets Alis. His sister was one of the girls Faith was with the night she died. I loved Alis, he is very awkward since he’s always been home schooled and kept separate. But he is a really good guy and tries to protect Brie.
Soon Brie comes to the attention of the people Faith knew. The things Brie learns are shocking to her, and she can’t understand why her sister would have been caught up in that. When she learns the truth of what happened to her sister, we have to hope it isn’t too late for Brie too.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Tess and Alis. I think it’s great that Brie Isn’t perfect, and that even though she didn’t like her sister she still fought to find out the Truth about what happened to her. This book made me sad in many ways because I Do adore my siblings, so the idea of anything happening to them was sad. What Did happen was hard too. I loved the way Denise Jaden wrote this story, and I loved the ending. We see the different ways people treat each other. We see that sometimes friends aren’t as strong as they wish to be, and sometimes they’re better than you ever hoped for.
